It has only been like 2 years since I registered as a Facebook user, and yet since that very day, every single time i open up my browser whether it's Mozilla, Chrome or even IE, it will be the 1st website I'd visit. In fact, i grew tired of selecting Facebook from my bookmark tab that i set it as my homepage and successfully reducing the number if clicks to reach Facebook O.o And i bet I'm not the only one doing this. Tsk tsk tsk.
Funny as it is, until 2 years ago, Facebook never exist in my life. Yeat Hon (my ex-roommate) was the one who introduced Facebook to me yet I declined his invitation at that time. Soon, as more and more people started using it, i joined in the fun. Yet if you'd asked me right here right now whether i can live without it? I don't think i can. Can you live without Facebook?
Facebook has been my window to my friends, especially with the live-feed they implemented a while ago. It has become a CNN for me which reports what my friends are doing, where are they, what did they have for meals, are they angry or sad, and I'll even know whether they're asleep or awake (as long as they post something on Facebook). Yeap, that's how powerful Facebook is. A couple of months ago, Jerry even held a primary school gathering just by inviting our former classmates through Facebook and it was quite a success in my opinion.
Yet, there are a few strange things i find about Facebook. Well, not Facebook actually but the people who uses Facebook. Any users can request to befriend another user, and when they're in our friends list, we can know everything about them (which they have keyed in for other users to view of course). What's strange about this is, there are people who talks about this "friend" they have in their list, what their "friend" is currently up to, what game their "friend" is playing, and they can talk as though they have known this friend for a long. Yet in reality, when they do meet this so called "friend" of theirs in person, there isn't even a single "hello" from either side. Occasionally, I do talk about things i found out from Facebook, but not to the extent where people who heard me would think that I'm talking about my best friend. It just don't make any sense to talk about someone whom you barely knew as though you're talking about an old friend. Right?
Another thing that i find strange? It's how people say one thing in the virtual world and do another in reality @.@ It's like, i posted on Facebook that I got no appetite to eat, whereas in reality, i'm eating 2 sets of McD. What's the point right? Trying to grab attention may be? Well people should stop doing things like that. Nobody demands you to post everything you do on Facebook, so if you don't feel like telling the truth, just don't post. There's no need to make up stories and stuffs, right?
Anyway, i'm getting more and more whiny recently. Really gotta stop doing that as it will only pisses people around me. Yaiks O.o
Oh ya, a dear friend of mine who has over 70 Facebook account asked me, will Facebook ever go unpopular? My answer was, i think it will, just like Friendster or MySpace or any other networking websites. But i sure hope it will stay in its place for as long as it can, because I'm still pretty much enjoying it.
Why does my friend has over 70 Facebook account? Well, to play games of course. Tsk tsk tsk. This friend of mine would log in each account, perform a few clicks and log out, ALL 70 ACCOUNTS........EVERYDAY @.@ now that's what i call perseverance.....hahaha....
